Ruiz possesses business management experience that includes: commercial real estate lease acquisitions & build outs; office operations implementation; insurance policy renewals (property/D&O/E&O) & risk mitigation tactics; investor relations & counterparty communications; employment & immigration filings, human capital management (recruitment efforts & benefits programs) and third party vendor relationship management.
Lisa's family office administration experience includes: bookkeeping (financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable); donor advisory fund and foundation grant management; estate planning and tax preparation liaison; domestic staff payroll and workers compensation management; insurance reviews and renewals, and para-legal functions (subscription documentation preparation, information dissemination, regulatory compliance).
From 2003 - 2017 Lisa applied the above skills to the management company of BlueMountain Capital Management as well the family office of its CEO. Joining BlueMountain at the firm's inception Lisa contributed to many facets of the firm's evolution, consistently meeting high expectations for exceptional service.
Prior to BlueMountain, Lisa spent 11 years at Tradition Financial Services (TFS) as an OTC broker of currency options in New York and in London as well as a Human Resources and Public Relations Manager. From 1990-1992 she supported the trading of global currency options at Merrill Lynch. Her career began in 1989 at Shearson Lehman Hutton in commodity options operations.
Lisa is known for her mountaineering, which is both the inspiration for the Ridge Walk name and, more importantly, the core of her work ethic and value system as applied to her life and to her clients. Since 2001 Lisa has scaled Kilimanjaro, Aconcagua, the Mexican Volcanoes, Mt. Rainer, various peaks in Southwest Colorado and most recently Denali (North America's highest peak) and Elbrus (Europe's highest peak). Raised in NYC, she has used her climbing skills to draw comparisons between survival in the mountains vs. survival in the city for those fighting poverty with recent climbing expeditions benefitting The Robin Hood Foundation, raising over $70,000. https://lisaruizblog.wordpress.com
Lisa graduated from New York University, Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Anthropology and International Studies, summa cum laude. She now applies the entirety of her experiences and her energy to her clients via East Hampton, NY. Lisa is a volunteer firefighter and the Treasurer of the Springs Fire Department and also the Treasurer of the East Hampton Rotary Club. She previously served on the Springs Citizens Advisory Committee and as a Board Member of the Accabonac Protection Committee.
